Landscaping

The purpose of the following landscaping D&Ds is to preserve and enhance the beauty and functionality of the property over time and to maximize the safety of those who tend that property.

WR’s landscaping features include lawns, trees, bushes, and perennials; stone walls, rock gardens, retaining walls, fences, pathways, sidewalks, driveways, and entrances. All these features were expertly designed to stay attractive year-round and to preserve the topography against erosion and other damage, with or without additional planting

Residents are welcome to add flowers and other small plantings around their units, and may do so without obtaining advance approvals, providing that existing plantings are not disturbed. 

THE SOIL IS AWFUL.  ANY IDEAS FOR helping it?  (Well-aged horse manure, which doesn't smell bad, may be available from a trotters stable I know about.)


Beyond such decorative contributions, prior written consent from the Board is required for moving, removing, adding, or otherwise changing any landscaping feature(s) around one’s home or anywhere else on the property. This applies to:
  • All trees, shrubs, and bushes (flowering or not)
  • Enlarged or new planting beds for flowers and ground cover
  • Rock gardens
  • Fences, retaining walls, and gates
  • Sprinklers
  • Pathways, driveways, sidewalks
  • Per section 6.11 of the bylaws?  WHAT's THIS?  Couldn't find it.


Penalties for violating these guidelines can be hefty, as they usually involve the unit owner returning the project to its original state at his or her own expense.  ????????
